student advisement

Canisius students with questions about academic issues can find answers in the Student Advisement Center (SAC).  Whether the topic is time management, study skills or declaring a major, the SAC works one-on-one with students to provide comprehensive academic advisement that not only promotes intellectual growth but empowers students to take responsibility for their educational, career and personal goals.  Housed in Bagen Hall Room 103, the Student Advisement Center maintains an open-door policy with supportive and friendly staff so students can feel comfortable seeking assistance.

The Student Advisement Center provides the following academic services to students:

  • Degree planning with thorough review of the Degree Requirement Summaries (DRS)
  • Fostering relationships between students, their respective academic department and faculty members
  • Skill building sessions to track mid-semester academic progress
  • Workshops that address transitional issues for first-year students (i.e. time management, study skills, stress management)
  • Information about college policies, procedures and responsibilities as a member of the Canisius community
  • Assistance to undeclared students
