Urban Leadership Learning Community Program The Urban Leadership Learning Community Program (ULLCP) enables the best and brightest students from Buffalo’s inner city to enroll in a unique educational opportunity at Canisius. Full and partial scholarships are available for this very competitive program.
The only one of its kind in the area, ULLCP develops academic and leadership potential through team learning, to create a new generation of leaders from a population that historically has been denied positions of influence or power in Buffalo. Clearly, leaders who reflect the diversity of the city, whether they are doctors, lawyers, teachers or business owners, will play a critical role in the future of our city.
The ULLC enrolled its first class in Fall 2000 and experiences an impressive 86 percent four-year graduation rate. Seventy-one (71) ULLC students have graduated since 2004, and currently there are 40 ULLC students pursuing undergraduate degrees in a wide-range of majors. Graduates have gone on to graduate programs in education, medicine, business and social work or are employed in a variety of occupations.
In 2007, the program recognized for excellence in diversity in education by the University of San Francisco Jesuit Network for Equitable Excellence in Higher Education (JNEE). To learn more, click
