The Accounting Information Systems (AIS) program is designed to prepare graduates with the accounting and technological skills to be able to bridge the gap between management and technology. The program is intended to prepare individuals who can speak the language of business and the language of technology.
The AIS program does not prepare students to sit for the CPA Exam in the State of New York. Students who wish to become CPAs will have to complete additional courses to satisfy the 150 hours requirement of the Sate of New York.
There are very few AIS undergraduate programs in the country, so opportunities for graduates of this program are enormous. Graduates will be prepared to take entry-level positions as consultants, burins analysts, systems analysts, and information specialists in accounting firms, industry the financial sector, and the government and not-for-profit sector.
