Students Honored At Computer Conference

On team that won “Best Demo” at CASCON ’09

BUFFALO, NY – Three Canisius College students were on a team that won “Best Demo” at the CASCON ’09 international computer science conference in Markham, Ontario, Canada from November 2-5. 2009. The event was co-sponsored by IBM’s Center’s for Advanced Studies and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada.

Jonathan Bard ’10, Elizabeth Kuedel ’11 and Stephen Kane ’12 gave a presentation with students from the University of Rochester entitled “Waste Not, Want Not: Adaptive Memory Sharing in a Multi-Core Environment.” Matthew Hertz, PhD, assistant professor of computer science, provided support to the students’ presentation.
