The Study Abroad MBA: Don’t Leave Home Without It!
Parle vous frances? Te hablas espanol? If you are pursuing an undergraduate degree in a foreign language, consider continuing your studies at Canisius College by enrolling in the MBA Program. The Study Abroad MBA is designed with your global viewpoint in mind.
Students participate in a study abroad experience at an international institution that is partnered with Canisius to accept our students for coursework. The study abroad experience will take place near the end of the MBA Program. Round out your MBA degree by taking 3 elective courses abroad, earning you a concentration in International Business.
Who is eligible to participate?
Students must meet the admission requirements of the MBA Program, including the completion of the Graduate Management Admission Test. Once enrolled, students will apply in their first semester for a study abroad experience. Students must maintain a 3.0 GPA to be eligible to study abroad. Those students not eligible to study abroad will earn an MBA with a concentration in International Business by completing courses on campus. In addition, students choosing an institution whose courses are offered in a language other than English must demonstrate proficiency in that language. To refresh language skills, students may take language courses.
Who should participate?
Students proficient in a language other than English who would like to improve business knowledge, develop foreign language skills and further their understanding of the partner’s culture should participate in The Study Abroad MBA. Students not proficient in a foreign language can participate in a study abroad experience with an institution that teaches courses in English. If you have a study abroad experience as part of your MBA, you will stand out as someone adaptable, confidant, open-minded and well-prepared to enter the global marketplace.
Cost
In addition to normal tuition charges, students who choose to particpate will also be responsible for travel and boarding expenses.
