C3E Program
Canisius College is working with Ecology and Environment, Inc. (E & E) to develop and implement an energy conservation program. The overall goal of the program is to reduce the college’s annual electric consumption by five percent, based on historical consumption during the last three academic years.
The project consists of two efforts: technical changes and awareness. A list of proposed technical changes was developed after E & E conducted building surveys and reviewed various energy usage data. The awareness efforts will use communication tools including electronic media, campus media and other publicity efforts to promote energy-conserving steps that can be undertaken by Canisius student body, faculty, staff and administration.
Last year Canisius College spent more than $1.5 million for electricity.
