Welcome to The Center for Teaching Excellence Homepage

Faculty Fellows for Assessment:

Dr. Barbara Burns and Dr. Ali Ait-Si Mhamed have been named the 2009-2010 Faculty Fellows.  They will be available to departments and individuals to consult on topics related to assessment of student learning at the course or program/major level.  They will also be holding seminars on topics related to assesment in the spring, and they will begin an on-line newsletter on assessment.

This blog will be added to weekly as a resource for faculty as we move into Flu season.  Here you will find ideas, strategies, and institutional policy that will help us maintain our courses while we address students' (and even the faculties') health concerns related to the H1N1 Flu virus and potential outbreak.  Click on the "H1N1 Blog" image above to access the weekly blog.

Faculty development has been ongoing at Canisius College since 1992.  Cast in the Jesuit tradition, the Center for Teaching Excellence assists faculty -- and through them our students and the community we share -- in the pursuit of excellence in teaching and learning, development of the "whole person" and service to others.

Thank you for visiting our site.  We welcome your suggestions, invite your questions, and are ready to help you make a difference in the world.
