Undergraduate programs in the School of Education & Human Services focus on hands-on learning opportunities that supplement classroom instruction and discussion.
These programs include:
- Adolescence Education: Grades 7-12 (concentrations available in Social Studies, English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, French, German, and Spanish)
- Athletic Training/Sports Medicine
- Childhood Education: Grades 1-6 (concentrations available in Social Studies, English, Science, Mathematics, French, German, and Spanish)
- Early Childhood Education: Birth-Grade 2 (concentrations available in Social Studies, English, Science, Methematics, French, German, and Spanish)
- Physical Education/Health Education
- Special Education/Early Childhood Education
- Special Education/Childhood Education
Field placements that begin as early as your sophomore year allow you to gain firsthand experience in classrooms. Volunteer work and a variety of school partnership programs can also help you gain experience prior to completion of your senior year student teaching placements. In programs such as Athletic Training/Sports Medicine, students complete 875 hours of practical work with athletes on- and off-campus, and in an off-campus internship.
