The faculty in the Physics Department provides students with an enthusiastic view of how physics relates to everyday life, as well as insights into how advances in physics inform and change our view of the universe. The department faculty has expertise in a wide range of fields including a mathematical physicist/theoretician, a theoretical astrophysicist, an experimentalist specializing in optics and lasers, an experimental sub-nuclear physicist and a specialist in statistical methods who works on biological, paleontological and anthropological problems. All physics faculty engage students in their research efforts.
