Important Housing Information for
Residents with Flu-like Symptoms:

Please reference the following links from the Student Health Center for information on the H1N1 flu virus:
In an effort to limit the spread of both the H1N1 virus and the seasonal flu within the residence halls, the please review the following recommendations:
  • Canisius College and Student Health strongly suggest that any resident that experiences flu-like symptoms returns home with their parent/guardian.
  • If residents are unable to travel home due to long distances, we recommend that they find a friend or relative in the area  to stay with.
If the resident does not know anyone in the area, staying at a nearby hotel for a day or two is also recommended. Here are some suggestions of nearby hotels, close to campus:
Holiday Inn Buffalo-Downtown Hotel
Doubletree Club Buffalo Downtown
Best Western Inn- On the Avenue
Hyatt Regency Buffalo

If residents are from a long distance and can not travel home, they will need to remain in their residence hall room. Check here for suggestions on what to do if you or your roommate has flu-like symptoms: /flu/whattodo.asp

Students experiencing severe symptoms should visit the Emergency Room at a nearby hospital or if during normal business hours, call Student Health at (716)888-2610.
