Need something fixed in your room? You can use your THD Self-Service portal to submit a request 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Please be as specific as possible with your request so it can be categorized and prioritized appropriately.

Lost Room Key or ID Card?

  • Did you lose your key? Visit Student Life in the lower level of Dugan Hall to submit a request for a new key or email housing@canisius.edu
Show Key Change and ID Card Charges

Please note that your key cannot be duplicated. When you move out, your key must be returned. You will be charged a replacement fee if you do not return your Campus Living-issued key or attempt to return a duplicated key

Lost ID Card?

  • Did you lose your key? Visit Student Life in the lower level of Dugan Hall to submit a request for a new key or email
  • Physical ID cards may be obtained through Public Safety located in the lower level of Bosch Hall (labeled AA on campus map). When you go to Public Safety to obtain your student ID, make sure to bring your ID number with you. If you need access to the building or have questions about hours of operation, please call Public Safety at 716-888-2330.

Show Why Report my ID Card Lost?

Reporting your ID card as lost will immediately disable the card for both financial transactions and access to buildings. In order to replace your ID card you go to the Public Safety office in Bosch Hall Lower Level. Once you have found or replaced your card, you will need to return here to reactivate it.

What to Expect After Placing a Work Order

  • We prioritize work orders based on the provided information as we receive them. The type of request determines the expected response time, depending on whether it is a routine or emergency request. 
  • Furniture Policy:
    All University-issued furniture provided in student residence hall rooms must remain in the assigned room throughout the academic year. Students are not permitted to remove or store University furniture in hallways, lounges, storage areas, or off-campus locations. Charges may apply for missing or relocated items at the end of the occupancy period.

What is a Routine Request? 
Non-emergency requests include: 

  • Light bulb needs changing 
  • Window blinds cracked or broken 
  • Hole or crack in the wall 
  • Electrical outlet not working (if you believe there is a fire hazard treat as an emergency) 
  • Air conditioner repairs 
  • Clogged toilet 
  • Lock change due to lost key 
  • Pest control (unless deemed an emergency)

What is an Emergency Request?
Emergency requests include: 

  • If there an emergency concern? Contact Campus Security immediately at (716)-888-2330
  • No power No heat (during cold weather) 
  • Leaks Flooding Running or overflowing toilet 
  • Broken window Failure of a door, window or security device to close properly 
  • Bio-hazard clean-up Emergency maintenance situations should be reported immediately.
