The Canisius University Borders and Migrations Event Series presents “My Partner” film screening and panel discussion on Wednesday, November 13 at 6:00 p.m. The event will take place in the Chester HON ’01 and Diane Stranczek Commons in Science Hall and is free and open to the public.
“My Partner” tells the story of two high school boys from different social worlds who navigate conflicts over native Hawaiian rights and Filipino immigration while developing romantic feelings for each other. The film is part of the BL (Boys Love) genre of storytelling that originated in yaoi manga tradition in Asia. A panel discussion will follow the screening of the film and be led by Lance Collins, writer of “My Partner.”
