Compliance

In accordance with the DOD MOU Canisius University adopts the following additional provisions for any student including Service Members using Tuition Assistance.

Canisius University will:

 

Direct and encourage Service members to speak with their Educational Services Officer (ESO) or counselor within their Military Service prior to enrolling the student in the institution.

Canisius University will not:

 

  • Prevent nor delay the student's enrollment;

  • Engage in high-pressure recruitment tactics such as making multiple unsolicited contacts (3 or more), including contacts by phone, email, or in-person, or engage in same-day recruitment and registration for the purpose of securing Service member enrollments;

  • Engage in providing commission, bonus, or other incentive payment based directly or indirectly on securing enrollments or federal financial aid (including Tuition Assistance funds) to any persons or entities engaged in any student recruiting, admission activities, or making decisions regarding the award of student financial assistance;

  • Deny the student access to any resources available to other students who have satisfied their tuition and fee bills to the institution, including but not limited to access to classes, libraries, or other institutional facilities.
    However, to qualify for this provision, such students will be required to: Produce the Certificate of Eligibility by the first day of class, Provide additional information needed to properly certify the enrollment, Our institution has adopted this addendum, effective August 2019.
