- Counseling Disposition Rating Form - this form will be on the application where you will rate yourself regarding your potential success in forming effective and culturally relevant interpersonal relationships in individual and small-group contexts
- Transcripts from the institution you have, or will be receiving, your degree from - unofficial or in progress transcripts are acceptable to begin the admissions review process
- Applications for candidates with less than a 3.0 cumulative GPA will be reviewed by the program director for an admissions decision and may include additional requirements (e.g., personal interview, GRE/GMAT, etc.)
- Two Letters of Recommendation - Letters can be professional or academic references; one letter must come from an undergraduate or graduate professor
Successful completion of the items below is required by the end of the first semester of study:
- Completion of the Counseling and Human Services screening process which include the Minnesota Multi-Phasic Personality Inventory (MMPI-2), a written autobiography, and an empathy test
- An individual interview must be completed with the student’s academic advisor reviewing the results of the Candidate Screening Battery and creating a plan of study
- The Candidate Screening Battery testing dates occur twice a semester (Fall & Spring) and once during the Summer. One can sign up for the Screening Battery on the 8th floor of the Churchill Academic Tower, outside of Twr-802
Clinical Mental Health Counseling Bridge Program
The Bridge program is for candidates who already have a Master’s degree in counseling, but do not meet the required coursework and experience for the NYS mental health-counseling license (LMHC). Please email @email to see if you meet the requirements to apply to the Bridge program.

Additional Requirements for International Students
- If your transcripts are not on a 4.0 scale or translated to English, additional evaluation may be required
-Proof of English Language Proficiency:
- TOEFL 79 IBT or 550 PBT
- IELTS 6.5 overall
- Duolingo English Test minimum score of 105
