Claudine Ewing is an award-winning news reporter and anchor at WGRZ-TV in Buffalo, New York. Over the years, her work has been recognized through numerous nominations and awards. In 2019, she won a New York State Emmy and New York State Associated Press Award. In 2017, she was recognized for “Preemie Goes to College,” a story that followed the life of a young woman from her premature birth to her graduation from high school. In 2015, Claudine received Special Mention by the New York State Associated Press for General Excellence in Individual Reporting. In 2014, she won a national award from the National Association of Black Journalists for “The Smart Football Scholar,” a story that highlighted the rise of Penn State graduate and mathematician, John Urschel, who played in the NFL with the Baltimore Ravens.
In 2004, she received the Young Alumnus Achievement Award from Buffalo State College, where she earned a degree in Broadcast Journalism with Honors in 1992. She began her career in radio news immediately after graduating from college. She is a member of the Buffalo Association of Black Journalists as well as the National Association for Black Journalists. She serves on the Buffalo State College Alumni Association Board, The TEGNA Foundation and For Our Daughters.
