The main teaching interests of John Zeis are Introduction to Philosophy and Ethics. His research specialties have been in theory of knowledge, philosophy of religion, and ethics. His latest publications are "Believing in Order to Know" and "A Pro-life Argument Against Vegetarianism." He initiated the Equestrian Club at Canisius about 15 years ago. His current research interest has been focused on the principle of double effect, and essential principle of Catholic moral philosophy. He has taught in the Undergraduate Leadership Learning Community since its inception.
