Instructional Coach
Brian Sepe is an educator, instructional coach, and consultant. He is passionate about exploring
the habits, beliefs, and ideas of people who teach and is driven by the idea that everyone
deserves a thought-partner and trusted coach.
Brian received his MA from Canisius University in Buffalo, NY and began his work in classrooms as
a teacher and coach. He spent 18 years in Buffalo and Orchard Park, NY as an elementary and
middle school teacher and instructional coach.
At the Instructional Coaching Group (ICG), Brian has a variety of roles and responsibilities
including grant work with instructional coaching research, consulting, and collaborating with the
incredible ICG team to create content for the website and blog. He loves that ICG is an
organization that aligns with his values for continual growth and development.
Within the Western New York Teacher Residency Program (WNYTR) at Canisius, Brian plays an
integral role in his collaboration with colleagues to design, lead, and support prospective
teachers in their year-long residency program to become a prospective teacher in Western New
York. He also works closely with the mentor teachers to provide leadership and coaching
support within the program.
Brian has presented at national and international conferences including the Teaching Learning
Coaching Conference (TLC), Coaching in Education Conference in Australia, and NCTE on the
impact of instructional coaching and professional learning in our schools and educational
organizations.
