You will be trained by experts in the field as you acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to further your career as a health professional.
Did you know that every professional sports team in the four major leagues employs either a Corrective Exercise Specialist or Performance Enhancement Specialist? You can earn these two Certificates with distinction and more with an MS in Exercise Science at Canisius.
The curriculum will provide students with appropriate course work and field experiences to prepare for the National Academy of Sports Medicine's (NASM) Performance Enhancement Specialization (PES), Corrective Exercise Specialization (CES), Behavior Change Specialist (BCS) and Certified Sports Nutrition Coach (CSNC) certification exams. There is also coursework geared towards preparing students for the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) exam offered by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).You will also be well prepared to go on for a terminal degree to become a medical doctor or physical therapist.
