Buffalo, NY – Canisius University earned high marks in the newest rankings for “Best Online Physical Education Masters Programs,” published by University HQ. Canisius secured the No. 6 spot among 25 colleges and universities in the nation, named to the annual list. Academics, affordability, graduate outcomes and reputation were all factors in determining the ranking.
Canisius’ online master’s degree program in physical education offers two separate paths, each with its own curriculum and outcomes. In both paths, students research cutting-edge topics in physical education instruction and learn to apply them to a physical education classroom setting. The two academic paths are:
Physical Education – Professional Certification: The program is designed for students with initial New York State certification in Physical Education who must meet the state requirements for professional certification.
Physical Education and Athletics: This program is designed for students with an interest in teaching physical education, physical activity, or coaching. If you do not have teaching certification, please check with your State Education department first to see if this program meets your needs.
The online master’s degree program in physical education is housed within Canisius University’s School of Education. The program is among several online graduate degree programs offered by the School of Education, and recognized by U.S. News and World Report as among the best in the nation. The U.S. News rankings are based on five general categories: student engagement, student services and technology, admissions selectivity, faculty credentials and training, and peer reputation.
