BUFFALO, NY – The Joseph J. Naples Conversations in Christ and Culture Lecture Series at Canisius University will kick off its fall season on Tuesday, October 22 when it welcomes Paul Kingsnorth to campus. The English writer will present “The Machine in the Garden: The Christian Relationship to Nature in the Age of Technology.” Kingsnorth’s lecture begins at 7:00 p.m. in the Montante Cultural Center and is free and open to the public.
Kingsnorth is the author of nine books of fiction, non-fiction and poetry including the novel “The Wake,” which was longlisted for the Man Booker Prize. His forthcoming book, “Against the Machine,” explores the cultural and spiritual impacts of the rising religion of technology. Kingsnorth also writes about Christianity, technology and the state of culture on his Substack, The Abbey of Misrule.
