Professor, Gamer in Guiness Book of World Records

BUFFALO, NY - The Guinness Book of World Records recently crowned Michael Thomasson the new world-record holder for having the largest video game collection. The adjunct professor of digital media arts owns more than 10,600 games for 104 different systems.

An avid gamer, Thomasson has been collecting video games and consoles for more than 30 years. At Canisius, he teachers video games: history and technique; electronic game design; and 2D computer animation.

Thomasson’s inclusion into The Guinness Book of World Records garnered national and international media attention.
