After a highly-celebrated exhibit at the Burchfield-Penney Art Center, the works of LeRoi Johnson from the Canisius University Art Collection will be on view in the intimate Peter A. and Mary Lou Vogt Gallery in the Andrew L. Bouwhuis Library. As noted on the Burchfield-Penney Art Center’s website, “With an international artistic presence, Johnson’s influences span across continents. Central to his work are bold, bright colors as well as African, Caribbean, and South American cultural influences depicting dreams, visions, African ancestry, and various otherworldly elements.” We are honored to have had these works on view in the exhibit “LEROI: Living in Color” and welcome them back to our campus.
