
Audrey Smith is a principal faculty member of the Physician Assistant Studies Program. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Physician Assistant from D’Youville College in 1999 and immediately began her medical career as a practicing PA. She worked in primary care for ten years while completing her Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Stony Brook University in 2013.
Prior to joining Canisius, Audrey served as core PA faculty at D’Youville University for over a decade. Committed to education and mentorship, she has been a preceptor for physician assistant students during clinical rotations, accepted PA shadows and was a guest lecturer for Canisius PA students during their didactic training.
Audrey has 25 years of clinical experience in the fields of Internal Medicine, Bariatrics, Neurology and Women’s Health. She is an active member of multiple professional societies on a local, state and national level, and is a distinguished fellow of the American Academic of Physician Associates. Audrey is dedicated to promoting diversity and equity, advancing women’s health, empowering her students and serving her local community.
A native of Western New York, Audrey enjoys traveling with her husband, listening to music and spending free time with her family and friends.
