Visit and Apply

BUFFALO, NY – Canisius University is introducing a new initiative aimed at supporting prospective students.  The Visit and Apply grant offers freshman students, who are planning to enter college in fall 2025, the opportunity to receive $1,000 each year, up to four years, when they visit the university and complete the application process.

To be eligible, prospective students must first participate in an official admissions visit to Canisius University.  Qualifying visits include a campus tour, a counselor interview and tour, or participation in an on-campus admissions event.  Prospective students must then submit a formal application via the Canisius Application or Common App by December 1, 2024.

“The new Visit and Apply grant underscores Canisius’ commitment to supporting students as they navigate the college decision process,” says Danielle Ianni, PhD, vice president for enrollment management.  “This initiative not only provides financial support but encourages prospective students to connect and engage with our campus community early on in their admissions process.”

Canisius has offered a similar Visit and Apply grant to transfer students for the past two years and is continuing the initiative for those who apply for spring 2025 or fall 2025 admission.

Students applying as transfer students are eligible to receive $2,000 each year, up to four years, if they complete an official admissions visit.  Qualifying visits include a campus tour, a counselor interview and tour, an on-campus admissions event, or a virtual interview with an admissions counselor.  Prospective transfer students must then submit their application through the Canisius Application or Common App.  Spring 2025 applicants must visit and submit their application by December 1, 2024.  Fall 2025 applicants must visit and submit their application by May 1, 2025.
