Buffalo, NY - Canisius student Sarah Marie Lynch ’24 is the recipient of a prestigious grant from Sigma Delta Pi, the national collegiate Hispanic honor society. The $2,000 grant supports participation in an internship where the primary language spoken is Spanish. To be eligible to receive the grant, an undergraduate student must be a Spanish major or minor, be an active member of Sigma Delta Pi, and have a superior academic record.
Lynch also received Sigma Delta Pi’s Premio Gabriela Mistral Award. This award recognizes an outstanding undergraduate student of Spanish who is an active member of Sigma Delta Pi and has demonstrated noteworthy involvement and initiative in the chapter. Lynch is vice president of the Canisius Chi Tau chapter of Sigma Delta Pi and recently coordinated a trip to Chicago for chapter members to see the opera “Carmen.”
Lynch is a triple major at Canisius, pursuing degrees in Spanish, integrated marketing communication and digital media arts. She is originally from Watertown, CT and will enter her senior year at Canisius in fall 2023.
