Buffalo, NY – Canisius University secured a coveted spot on MONEY magazine’s 2024 list of Best Colleges.  The institution joins a select group of 745 four-year colleges and universities recognized nationwide for providing a high-quality, affordable education that prepares students for successful futures.  Canisius was further commended for its high graduation rates, cost of attendance, financial aid and alumni outcomes.

“Canisius University is committed to providing students with a transformative educational experience that combines academic excellence with affordability,” says President Steve Stoute.  “Our inclusion on MONEY's list of Best Colleges reaffirms this commitment and speaks volumes about the dedication of our faculty and staff who work every day to cultivate leaders, ready to make a meaningful impact in their professions and their community.”

MONEY, known for its comprehensive evaluation of higher education institutions, reviewed upwards of 2,400 private and non-profit schools using more than two dozen data points in its analysis.  The publication also incorporated a value-added metric to assess the economic and academic backgrounds of admitted students.  This metric considered factors that included net price according to income level and outcomes of Pell Grant recipients, assessing how effectively schools support students from lower-income backgrounds.

MONEY is a personal finance magazine and website that reports on investments, loans, credit, mortgages and more.

Canisius was founded in 1870 in Buffalo, NY, and is one of 27 Jesuit colleges and universities in the U.S. Consistently ranked among the top institutions in the Northeast, Canisius offers undergraduate, graduate and pre-professional programs distinguished by close student-faculty collaboration, mentoring and an emphasis on ethical, purpose-driven leadership.
