Higher Ed's Role in Buffalo's Future

Buffalo, NY - Canisius University President Steve Stoute participated in Leadership Buffalo's Education Day event on Wednesday, March 12 at Buffalo Prep.  The event featured a panel discussion titled "Colleges and Community" and explored the vital role higher education institutions play in shaping Buffalo's future and regional development.  

President Stoute joined fellow education leaders on the panel including Matthew Giordano, PhD, president of Villa Maria College, Stephanie Peete, senior director of workforce development for Say Yes, and Ramona Reynolds, EdD, from Buffalo Public Schools' Family and Community Engagement Department.   Their discussion focused on how colleges impact the economic, social and cultural landscape of Buffalo and surrounding areas.  

Nearly 100 people attended the Education Day event.  Among them, members of Leadership Buffalo's Class Experience and Rising Leaders cohorts, as well as local business leaders, community stakeholders and students.
